In this situation, Congratulations on taking positive first steps toward getting a college education and the necessary financial aid. The financial aid process can be intimidating, but knowledge is power.  Let's start with need-based financial aid. The vast majority of college students would never be able to attend school without some sort of financial aid assistance. That's where financial aid comes in.  There are a variety of financial aid tools available to students today, including scholarships, need-based awards, work-study employment and the student loans consolidation.
Need-based financial aid eligibility is based on two calculations, The total cost of education and the family's ability to pay.  Your financial aid eligibility may be revised to match your eligibility based on your enrollment as of the census date.

IMPORTANT - Please be advised that your enrollment changes and academic performance do impact your financial aid.  On SFA site you will find information about how to apply for financial aid at UF, deadlines, and financial aid programs.

FRAUD PREVENTION - Don't be a victim of financial aid fraud perpetrated by unauthorized organizations or individuals.  Most federal and state-funded financial aid programs are awarded on the basis of proven financial need.  Students may sign in to Info to see if their financial aid awards are completed.  Remember that some financial aid grants are awarded on a first-come first-serve basis due to limited funding.  It is important to apply early and submit required documents immediately.Part-time and full-time students may qualify for financial aid. Also provide student financial aid advisory, consultation and preparation services.  Study Abroad Learn how the type of student abroad program you choose affects your financial aid.  We also know navigating the system to get the financial aid you deserve can be difficult.  As you look at tuition costs, remember, the real cost of a college education can vary dramatically based on financial aid. In CSI Apply for admission, search the schedule of courses, add/drop classes, make a payment, check your Financial Aid, look up your grades, etc.  Therefore, all applicants to Cal-Arts are encouraged to apply for financial aid.  (Applying for admission and applying for financial aid are two separate processes.) International students are not eligible for federal and state assistance.  For the most part, funds made available through the Financial Aid Office are awarded on a combination of demonstrated need and artistic merit.

Everything you need to know about the financial aid process and opportunities are right here at your fingertips.  The FAFSA is the starting point in applying for all types of federal financial aid including grants, student loans, and work-study.  Early application is key to maximizing your financial aid eligibility.  Be sure to complete section 4 of the application for financial aid and also section 5 of the application to apply for scholarships.  If other documentation is needed to complete the financial aid application, the student will be contacted.  Copies are also available at the financial aid office.
